Tender Description
Refurbishment of ground floor and level one of the Perkins Building.
Perkins Building is a two storey, solid brick building with timber floors and slate roof. The Building was constructed in two sequential stages in 1919 and 1920 and was the original classroom building of Cranbrook School. The Building is identified as a heritage item of local significance as part of Cranbrook School’s listing in the Woollahra Local Environmental Plan 2014 (Woollahra LEP 2014). The Building has had many uses and is currently the central focus of
music within the school. This use is proposed to continue post the refurbishment. The building has a General Floor Area (GFA) of approximately 1131m2.
Façade and Roof Upgrade
The project will include the replacement and/or refurbishment of roof tiles, gutters, downpipes, external windows and repainting of external walls as generally the state of finishes is in considerably worn down and dated. Whilst it will remain the objective to maintain the heritage significance of the Perkins’ Façade by remaining true the Cranbrook Conservation Management Plan, the upgrade will also endeavour to match the newly established aesthetic set by Master Plan Stage 2 Redevelopment of the Senior School and requirements set by Appendix A.
