Tender Description
The Site is located east of the Defence Weapons Research Facility, Building 957 at DSTG Edinburgh. The Site is
substantially within the existing compound perimeter zone with the eastern portion of the proposed new compound for
the works extending into the existing leased farming land. Therefore, the perimeter fence is required to be extended on
the eastern boundary over the existing swale and over a portion of the leased farming land. Arrangements for
reclamation of the leased farming land have been completed by Defence. The new compound will provide a required
safety distance of 110m from existing building 844 to the north of the Site.
The compound infrastructure at DSTG Edinburgh will be:
- A handstand area that will provide:
o Access via a sliding, single leaf automated gate.
o Vehicle access through the gate and circulation in the clockwise direction then exiting through the
same gates.
o A parameter fence (to be Defence DCSRM class 2).
o An amenities building to be located on the southern edge of the compound.
o Pedestrian circulation is to be separated from vehicular paths for safety.
o Pedestrian paths which will be line marked as pedestrian zones only.
