Henson Park Redevelopment

Tender Description

BOQ is to be issued by 19/9/23.

The project is design and construct a new facility at Henson Park including (but not limited to) the following scope items:

1. Grandstand - repairs to the first-floor seating area, providing DDA lift access to upper levels and complete upgrades to meet regulatory access requirements;
2. Player amenities in Grandstand - upgrade and reconfigure, providing change areas suitable for female players, accessible toilets, increase storage areas for sporting equipment;
3. Grandstand extension (approx 1000m2 GBA) – new building at the rear of the grandstanding providing female friendly player and officials change rooms, amenities, gym, clubroom, solar panels on the roof and a lift providing wheelchair access to the upper levels of the grandstand;
4. Multipurpose Building (approx 450m2 GBA) – demolish existing building and structures and construct new building providing public amenities including baby change facilities, accessible toilets, game day canteen, coaches boxes, and media broadcast facilities;
5. Upgrade the areas surrounding the Grandstand, including interchange and official bench areas, paving and drainage requirements.

Staging

The project is to be staged in the following manner:

1. Completion of the player amenities in the existing grandstand – the refurbishment of the grandstand is to be undertaken first and handed back to Council for use while the remainder of the project is completed. Minor works will be required to this area after its completion that may require it be temporarily closed to enable the safe construction of the extension to the rear.
