Tender Description

High Voltage (HV) works package

The extent of the works covered under this package includes the High Voltage (HV)
modification and upgrades to the Royal Melbourne Hospital site including coordinating with
CitiPower for new incoming HV supplies, Internal HV cabling modifications, new HV MSB’s
and control interfaces.
Under this package the new incoming HV supplies are being terminated in substation E by
Citipower, to a board and room constructed under this tender.
HV cabling will also be diverted from substation A in RMH B block, via the southern tunnel
to Substation E
Substation E is in the basement of the Royal Women’s Hospital, and whilst some of the
building works are being undertaken by the Royal Women’s Hospital (RWH) Public Private
Partnership (PPP), the cabling works will be undertaken by RMH under this tender

B Block Generator works package
The extent of works covered under this package includes alterations to the existing generator
installation: relocation of the existing exhaust to the roof top and the Installation,
commissioning and testing of a new generator (procured by RMH). The installation of the
new generator will be in the level 9 plantroom on top of the b block building (corner of Royal
Parade and Grattan Street). The installation will require the roof (at level 9) to be removed,
the generator craned in and the roof closed, maintaining water proofing at all times. The
contractor will be responsible for Permits from Melbourne city Council, note that these will
be required for cranage and road closures.
