Tender Description

The Code for the Tendering and Performance of Building Work 2016 applies to the building work associated with this project. By submitting an expression of interest in, or tender for, this project, you will become subject to the Code for the Tendering and Performance of Building Work 2016.

Description of the work under the Contract:
Knobels Road – 242/10H/370606
The project involves upgrading the intersection between the Bruce Highway and Knobels Rd/Nebia- Coningsby Rd and the installation of wide centreline.
Jumper Creek – 242/10H/370716
The project involves increasing the vertical grade line of the highway through the existing floodway to achieve a 5% AEP flood immunity.

Knobels Road – 242/10H/370606
The project includes the following key elements:
• Pavement widening to incorporate turning lanes and medians
• Asphalt profile correction to address aquaplaning issues
• Raised concrete medians
• Allow for wide centreline treatment to extend through the project
• Drainage upgrades
• Intersection and route lighting
• Signage upgrade
• Private access works
Jumper Creek – 242/10H/370716
The project includes the following key elements:
• Pavement construction, including widening to accommodate the road formation
• Extension of the Jumper Creek Culvert
• Demolition of four and installation of two culvert structures to the south of Jumper Creek to increase cross drainage conveyance
• Introduction of rock scour protection at culvert outlets and the Jumper Creek inlet
• Introduction of road safety barriers
• Private access works

Bridge works are out of scope.

Working Days and Working Hours:
Monday to Saturday
6:00 am to 6:00 pm
Release of hold points by the Administrator or their Representative will not be available on Saturday unless agreed in advance with the Administrator.

Other days considered to be not Working Days during which work is not permitted under the Contract:
1. The Christmas public holiday period is to be defined as a minimum of two [2] weeks that must include the 24th December in any given year to the 2nd of January of the following year/s. The commencement date of the 2 week holiday period shall be agreed at a minimum of 2 months prior to commencement of the 2 week holiday.
2. Gazetted Queensland Public Holidays and the Mackay Region Show holiday – Mackay Annual Show

Quotations must be based on a minimum of 90 Days.
